Our third story begins with a quarrel at home and ends with a wish come true. When Ella visits the Green Tunnel she meets fairies in a beautiful garden, but there are fierce gnomes in a cave who mine for gold and precious crystals and threaten Ella and her friend with their pickaxes.
They escape to find a wise old wizard who shows Ella wonderful things in his crystal globe and teaches her about giving and receiving.
