I know these pages are supposed to be written in the third person, but it feels too impersonal.
So, hello! My name is Michelle Gordon and The Amethyst Angel began as the publishing imprint of my books. (Amethyst the Angel is also one of the characters in my first book!) I have been a writer since I was eight years old. I wrote my first poem (outside of school) at the age of ten, and it was a whole four lines long. Being an author is all I have ever wanted to be, and when the Indie revolution happened, I was very happy, because the old traditional publishing model just didn’t sit right with me. I published my first book in 2007 when POD was just getting started, and I knew then that it would change everything.
I have now published thirteen books, and plan to publish more soon. Every time I publish a new one, I learn something new! I have also helped several authors to publish their books. Every author is different, they all have needed different services and different levels of help, and I have been there at each step of the way, just on the end of an e-mail or phone call when they get stuck. I consider them to be colleagues and even friends, and I get very excited when I see their books in print for the first time!
I mainly specialise in Spiritual and Visionary Fiction, Fantasy and Sci Fi, Poetry and Mind Body Spirit Non-Fiction.
I work with a few really amazing people, freelancers and small businesses, to bring my clients’ books to life.
Elizabeth Lockwood – Proofreader & Editor
I have been working as a freelance editor/proofreader since 2009, when I began working on spiritual novels.
I have experience editing/proofreading a range of texts including fiction and non fiction, academic work and various articles.
I am a PQB qualified proofreader. I have a BA (Hons) degree, MA degree and MPhil degree in English.
I live in West Wales with my husband and children, and have written a book about my (in)fertility journey, Little Something.
